Cherish this role.... I'm Trying!

“Mothers, cherish that role that is so uniquely yours and for which heaven itself sends angels to watch over you and your little ones. Yours is the work of salvation, and therefore you will be magnified, compensated, made more than you are, better than you are, better than you’ve ever been.

He is blessing you & He will bless you. Rely on Him, rely on Him heavily. Rely on Him forever. And press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope.”

-Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

This week, I have TRIED to Cherish my role as a mother. REALLY I HAVE.....

Cherish, not getting any sleep because Henry is on a NEW BORN BABIES Schedule...

Cherish, Hunter trying to find his independence AGAIN... we are on a constant roller coaster, he does so great with listening and obeying and then it just goes out the window...

Cherish, Henry not wanting to eat, and when I do try to feed him he throws the food.

Cherish, Hunter boy... getting up before the Sun comes up on Saturday and Sunday and DEMANDS... cartoons, food and drink.

Cherish, the crazy hour of sacrament meeting that we try to keep the boys quiet, when all they want to do it RUN!

Cherish, the constant picking the house up All day every day, toys, dart guns, BULLETS, Bullets, Bullets, did I say Guns and Bullets!!! I feel like a maid sometimes. I have never met a kid like Henry that can destroy a room as fast as I clean it up....

Cherish, the crazy mornings that we try to read scriptures, and only maybe get thru 2 verses ( if that)... no one is listening!

Cherish, the disrespect that Hunter shows me, this kid is 5 RIGHT? It saddens me sometimes when he talks back to me and it also drives me crazy with the constant comments. Really it just breaks my heart, I don't even know if he knows how much it makes me sad.

And than as I was writing this my mind became filled with good cherished moments. Funny how our hearts are softened... it must be those "angels" Elder Holland is talking about.

I do Cherish, the laughter of my two boys when they play.

I do Cherish, the time I have with Hunter in the car dancing and singing.

I do Cherish, the fact that Hunter loves to learn more about Jesus and our Heavenly Father.

I do Cherish, the amazing nursery teachers that love my Henry so much to teach him sweet songs.

I do Cherish, the conversations at bed time, even if they last WAY past bed time.

I do Cherish, Henry, SOMETIMES.. in the middle of the night. I get to sneak one more kiss in before I see him again.

I do Cherish, when Hunter comes home from school and gives me a cutout heart and says "this is for you and daddy, because I love you".

I do Cherish, the fact that we have toys for our boys to make a total mess of the house with.

I do Cherish, that I can look at them and see good boys that do make me smile more than frown.

I do Cherish, the hug that I get from Hunter after he is out of timeout and we tell each other we love each other.

I firmly believe that one of those Angels that heaven sends is my daughter. She is my Angel to help me to get through my days with her brothers. Maybe she knocks them in the head sometimes when I feel like I really want to. ha ha

I do Cherish, my role as a mother, Even when it can be the hardest day!

Doctrine and Covenants 14:7

And, if you keep my commandments
and endure to the end you shall have eternal life,
which gift is the greatest of all gifts of God.
D & C 14:7

Oh how I loved this quote for today... it was perfect for what I needed to hear, I find myself being a slacker and just sliding by doing the basic prayer and scripture study. That is if I do it all... this reminds me how the small and simple daily acts can only nurture my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I know the Lord speaks to me in simple ways, like these daily quotes... just kicking my butt.....I'm rededicated....

The greatest gift we could receive is a prophet's reward (matthew 10:41), even eternal life in the kingdom of God. Eternal life is the quality of life that our Heavenly Father and Savior enjoy; it is to have their everlasting joy and eternal felicity; it is to live forever as families in the presence of God (D&C 132:19-20,24,55). Elder L. Tom Perry said, " I believe that if we could create in our minds a clear and true picture of eternal life, we would start behaving differently. We would not need to be prodded to do the many things involved with enduring to the end, like doing our home teaching or visiting teaching, attending our meetings, going to the temple, living moral lives, saying our prayers, or reading our scriptures. We would want to do all these things and more because we realize they will prepare us to go somewhere we yearn to go. (Ensign, May 2008).

If I was decorating......

As the days go by and it gets closer to Valentines day,
I just have no desire to decorate.
I think most likely because I don't have ANY Cute Valentines Decorations.
As I walk around the store and see all the decorations I think,
oh that is cute.
And my next thought is, Oh but I don't want to spend the money...
Hummm, could I be maturing?? :)
Not wanting to spend the money on "just" decorations.
Maybe I will just have to hit up the after Valentines Day sales
and get cute stuff for NEXT year. :(

..SOO this year..

Hunter hooked us up with a beautiful love chain,
he made it one Sunday morning before church.
He got the cute idea out of his "Friend" magazine.

Henry and Hunter love it and Henry smiles and laughs every time he See's the heart and he tries to swat them down.

Homemade from Hunter with lots of love is the best decoration ever.

Hunter's Bedtime Convo...

I was putting Hunter to bed and he always likes to talk before he falls asleep. Tonight was way to cute....

Hunter: mommy how did you get bigger than me?

Me:It took me 36 years to get this big.

Hunter : But you are medium and daddy is longer. He is 31 and you are 36.

Me : Well some people grow taller. And some are shorter.

Hunter :But mommy 36 is older than 31 so you are older than daddy, why is he bigger.

Me: Mommy stopped growing and daddy is taller.

Hunter : Well then when I get to be dad's size, Henry will be my son.

Me: no Henry is your brother..

Hunter - NO, Henry is my son.

Me: NOOOO Henry is your brother..... you will one day have a family and kids like mommy and daddy. We got married and had kids and you and Henry are our children.

Hunter : o.k. well I will have kids when i'm 20...

Me: You will be on a mission when you are 20..

Hunter: Well then when i'm 38...

Me: SOUNDS GOOD....

Hunter: Who will I marry, ANYA?

Me: Nope, Anya is your cousin...

Hunter: Then Joseph

Me: No Joseph is a boy

Hunter: Auntie Ya ya

Me: No she is your aunt.

Hunter : O. k. So then do I marry you or hummm daddy.

Me: No buddy, you would marry a friend. Someone maybe in school. Some one like Savannah or Lindsay....

Hunter : Oh no mom.... Savannah is to tall.

Me: I love you buddy, it is time for bed.

Hunter : O.k. mom I love you and you know school isn't really that long... and tomorrow is short day... AWESOME!!!!

It was the cutest talk we have had... I LOVED IT!!!!

A season or a lifetime....

As most of you know, I was in a previous marriage over 10 years ago..
Even thou that relationship didn't work out,
I have to count my MANY blessings for
the people that I met while on that path and journey of life.
Just one amazing person I met was Lindsey, I use to teach her in Primary.
I have watched her grow and seen her blossom into a beautiful young woman.
She has loved me, and my sweet family.
Her family is amazing and now even after 10 years our friendship is even stronger.
I'm blessed to have such a sweet young woman in my life.
Last week, Henry and I spent the morning going to lunch,
seeing her family and celebrating her 20th birthday.
I have enjoyed watching her grow and go after her dreams.
I look forward to see her date new guys, get married, and even one day have children.
I'm reminded of the poem, A Season, Reason, or a Lifetime.
I know my sweet friend Lindsey will be my dear friend for a lifetime.
A Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or
a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you
will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON . . . It is
usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have
come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you
with guidance and support, to aid you physically,
emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a
godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason
you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an
inconvenient time, this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realise is that our need has been met, our
desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you
sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON . . .
Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount
of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things
you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the
person, and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said
that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

I LOVE the color RED

Quote for the day...Self-reliance

Self-reliance mean using all of our blessings from Heavenly Father to care for ourselves and our families... Each of us has a responsibility to try to avoid problems before they happen and to learn to overcome challenges when they occur.

Quote for the day...Don't be critical

Don't be critical of people.
Find their virtues...
they have some...
and build on those.
You will be very happy if you do.

4 things i'm thankful for....

I love how Steve goes after his hearts passions. He loves Hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling, camping, and can he make some mean BBQ. He is such a outdoor man, rough and tough.

Oh how I have missed my Juicer. We got our Juicer about 2 years ago, used it a ton and it just got put away one day and forgotten about... I organized yesterday and found the ol girl. :)

I'm thankful to have have the grapefruits from the Towers Family and other veggies and fruits to Juice.

Henry actually drank the carrot juice. What a great and healthy way to give our family our nutrition.

I'm soooo thankful for great kids for Hunter and Henry to play with. School was out, so we had a "BOY" playdate... the kids played nerf dart gun wars.. played games.. ate snacks.. watched movies.. that had a way fun morning.

Henry loves to be anywhere his big brother and friends are. ( I think the older kids love to play with him more)
I'm thankful for Visiting Teaching. To have that connection of womanhood. I'm grateful for the amazing woman that I get to visit. I learn so much from them. They are special woman and this is a wonderful program.

Kiss in a Karaoke Bar......

I have married the most wonderful man, our first kiss was in a Karaoke bar during spring break. That was a funny story for another day... :)
We have had 8 years of a roller coaster ride, good and challenging. Yet at the end of each day I knew it would all be o.k. because my sweet Steve was beside me.
If Steve is o.k. then i'm o.k.... he is my safe place, my strength.
Steve lifts me up when the load of life gets heavy.
My sweet husband continues to make me smile, laugh and enjoy life. He always tries to see the positive in life and go for it.
Oh yes, he does drive me crazy with some things, and that is what makes me crazy in love with him. We are almost complete opposites, he loves to hunt ( me not so much) , he listens to OLD time country (me, well I love newer country so we compromise) and he will even choose to pee outside rather than in a house... (that drives me crazy)... Seriously I did not know how red neck he was until over the years! HA HA
Oh but man can he cook some mean BBQ and clean house!
I do like a clean and organized house so in that department we are good.
But a man that cleans... HUGE BONUS!
At the end of the day, just seeing him makes me smile. He loves me for who I am and doesn't try to change me. He thinks I'm beautiful with or without makeup.. his famous last words are always.. "just be COMFORTABLE"....
I love how easy going he can be, he lets me open my wings and fly with all my ideas, dreams and hobbies.
I love him with all my heart.
I'm so blessed to have such an amazing man and father for our children.
Happy 8 year Anniversary Babe!!

Comfort

It is imperative that we recognize that whatever has happened to us has happened to others. They have coped and so must we. We are not alone. Heavenly Father's help is near.
~ Thomas S. Monson

We're all in this life together. We have our share - sometimes it seems like an unfair share - of trials, disappointments, pain, and heartache large and small.

"But God will not leave us comfortless or alone (John 14:18).

Thomas s. Monson ~ "I bear to you my witness that He is there. He does hear and answer EVERY prayer. His son, the Christ, burst the bands of earthly prisons. Heaven's blessings await you".
