Alicia hosted her first annual "Mingle and Jingle" Christmas party. This is one that will go in the books. Pictures speak a thousand words!!! I don't think there was a moment the whole night that we weren't laughing either at each other or the babies. I never knew a "white elephant" gift exchange could be so much FUN. You really don't want to MISS any of these pictures... they are cute and hilarious. Lets just say... it was a BLAST (who ended up with the Santa Thong)! Merry Christmas Ladies!

Living
"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." — Marjorie Pay Hinckley
By Sister Marjorie Pay Hinckley
I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.
"My mother taught me some basic philosophies of rearing children. One is that you have to trust children. I tried hard never to say "no" if I could possibly say "yes." I think that worked well because it gave my children the feeling that I trusted them and they were responsible to do the best they could." ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley ~
"Find joy in your children. Don't overschedule them or yourself. You may not be able to take them on exotic vacations. It doesn't matter. When the day dawns bright and sunny, take an excursion to the canyon or the park. When it's cloudy and wet, read a book together or make something good to eat. Give them time to explore and learn about the feel of grass and the wiggliness of worms." -Marjorie Hinckley
"We each do the best we can. My best may not be as good as your best, but it's my best. The fact is that we know when we are doing our best and when we are not. If we are not doing our best, it leaves us with a gnawing hunger and frustration. But when we do our level best, we experience a peace." -Sister Marjorie Hinckley

My Sister, My Friend
I had the chance last weekend to see my sisters, when we get together it is always a blast. We laugh, talk, watch the kids... I mean chase the kids around and I love to be in there presence. We carry each others burdens, finish each others thoughts, my sisters are my best friends and I love them and are so greatful for them.

Christmas Inspirations
These pictures gave me inspiration to get decorating...you know you use the same ol decorations each year, no budget for new items, so I "spiced" up my thinking of how I wanted to decorate by seeing other ideas. My house isn't a pottery barn picture but it special to our family... it was fun decorating and making my home festive..post some of your rooms, I would love to see!!!
